Welcome to the October 2024 issue of Swords & Sorcery Magazine, issue 153. This month I feature four new stories, one featuring an audio recording of the story read by the author, a first for Swords & Sorcery. Enjoy!
In “Beyond the Slit of Eternity”, by K. T. Booker, a barbarian warrior journeys into a strange otherworld to save a child. Booker’s work has previously been published in Whetstone. This is their first appearance in Swords & Sorcery Magazine.
In “A Hoard of Infinite Meanings”, by Abby Roberts, a scholar discovers magic and meaning in a previously undeciphered language. Roberts is an assistant editor and writer from Virginia, USA. This is the first appearance of her fiction anywhere.
In “A Fallen Flare”, by Jamey Toner, a sorceress must rescue a dragon friend from the clutches of a lich. Toner’s work has appeared in many places, including previously in Swords & Sorcery Magazine.
In “Eliza Sky and the Iron Smelter’s Devil”, by Neil Willcox, mercenary warrior Eliza Sky concludes an agreement with the Lodestar Warrior to help her retrieve her lost kin . Willcox’s poetry and fiction have appeared in various places around the internet, including here in Swords and Sorcery. Included with this story is a recording of it read by the author.
