Welcome to the April 2024 issue of Swords & Sorcery Magazine, issue 147. In this issue I present three more stories for your reading pleasure. As always I hope you enjoy them. You’ve probably noticed the site’s appearance has changed. After more than twelve it was time for a new look. It’s still very basic, but the new site is easier to expand and update, so you can expect further improvements going forward.
In “The Cursed Woods”, by Matthew Ilseman, ex-warrior priest Aleron and his shrinya companion Krya try to break a curse that is killing lumbermen in a logging camp. Ilseman’s work has appeared previously in Swords & Sorcery Magazine.
“The Spectral Hunt”, by Jared Kerr, is the tale of a monster hunter who uses faith and magic to hunt a beast that has been terrorizing a parish priest. Kerr’s work has been published in Savage Realms Monthly. This is his first appearance in Swords & Sorcery Magazine.
“The Bequest”, by Sandra Unerman, is the story of a young woman and scholar who inherits a haunted cottage. Unerman’s stories have appeared in a range of venues, including previously in Swords & Sorcery Magazine.
